i recently got a 303 british from my grandfather and in the ammo box i came across what looks to me like a string of fully automatic ammo from 1943 the marking says DZ1 does any body know what this is. it doesnt not say a calibur on it att all just 1943 DZ1.

well we've never been that welcoming to begin with....
we all got mocked for incorrect grammer here when we started.
OP, a lot of people here get a little funny when new members start posting stuff like "full auto, assault rifle, banana clips" etc. etc. even if it's in the proper context etc.
lol well i have no idea what it is. it is linked so i assumed it was for some kind of automatic rifle i know it is not legal. how ever the cops had it in their posession and didnt say any thing to me about it when they gave it back. i am not planning on getting rid of it because it was my grandpas and he passed away a couple of weeks ago. as for the bugging me about wording its all good i can take it hahaha it does not have a calibur any where on it thats what i was trying to figure out.

Don't worry, it's legal. You can have it linked as much as you want, it's just the full auto rifles that are prohibited. The only ammo that's prohibited/illegal is armour piercing rounds, incendiary, flechettes, etc etc, but just because your rounds are linked doesn't make it illegal. You'd most likely be good to still shoot it if it doesn't show any signs of wear. (which is why some of the guys are being so kind and offering to take it off your hands
)As for finding out what caliber it is, post some picks of one or two rounds next to some household items such as lighter, pack of cigarettes etc and someone will be able to identify it.

Armour piercing rounds in a rifle caliber are not illegal, only pistol caliber AP rounds are prohib. 5.7x28 AP is prohib as well. .303/3006/.308/5.56/ect AP is legal to own and shoot, some clubs may not allow it to be shot though.
