Alright...

Everone calm down and take a pill

I will have an answer in a couple days and hopefully I will get a PILE of stuff that is to heavy for one person to carry.

Im going to try to steer away from anything that needs registration but I will look into barreled actions for those who metioned it (most of the P-14s are sportered with the sights butchered off)

This is mostly a 'barrel' thing but Im gonna grab whatever I can

Try to relax in the mean time....I recomend cheap Canadian Whiskey

By the way the price of steel is about $70 per ton. If you can get it for that buy it all!
Actually, it's $55 per ton. That would be nice - how much does a barrel weigh? We can calculate the cost per barrel in pennies.

grab it all

I'm with Desporterizer on that. If you can afford the storage, get as much as you can. There is a finite supply of these things, regardless of condition. Barrels are one thing guys seem to need but haven't realized it. Bits and pieces are always needed. There will be a day when people will pay $50 for some gizzet you'd never consider worth anything.

I've wondered how to sell valuable parts into a slow market. My father for example has a lifetime of parts and things. Each one has a value, but finding a willing interested buyer will take time. My thoughts are to INDIVIDUALLY describe the items, oil them generously and store in tagged plastic bags. Your records go on a website with pictures if practical, and wait. Advertise on ebay if you want.

I am thinking "ROAD TRIP" If I drive to your house in my truck...Will you load it up for me?:D :D I will take one of every thing you can find.

This is free...Right???

I wouldn't mind a few of the barrels in the grease also. please

You didn't happen to find any 1919 30-06 barrels in there klunk? Im trying to find one thats already in canada... Not much luck yet(no marstar does not have any)

If there is anything mosin related, barreld actions, preferably with bolts lol... so there may actualy be a chance the headspace would be correct.. I would be interested.

Actually, if you can get me one, I'd like either a Remmy or Winny (no Eddy) P14 action with ground off rear sight wings (or intact to - doesn't matter) for a .375H&H project I hope to soon have on the go. Preferably with bolt and M1917 bottom metal. No problem getting it registered and verified to me. Let me know! :) Barrel can be trashed or even not present - makes no difference to my purposes...

Don't modify a intact action/barrel please, they can be restored!!:( :( :(

as I remember there were about 50 P-14/P-17 actions in another pile. Most appeared to be Century butcher jobs with no rear sights/drilled/tapped for scope.

I will check into it...I didint know so many people got wet over those old things

The P14/17 action is a very strong action and heavily used for custom jobs! :)

And you know how people go over these things!!:D :D :D

Agreed! I WANT A CUSTOM .375!!! (or maybe ,405 Gibbs?)

As for modifying an original receiver, why would I bother building up a mixmaster representation of a rifle that's already parted out isn't at all rare?
