As part of the 100th anniversary of the SMLE being introduced we held a rifle competition at Bisley today, I have put a link in via my blog as I'm all done uploading for tonight!:)

Im' suprised that Tony Bliar and his political correctness gang haven't banned the Bisley shoot,....this a*shole and his Labour party have done some serious damage to the British Armed Forces,....the fact that there are Brits with rifles and shooting must be giving Tony and his bum buddies lots of sleepless nights

Thankfully Bliar has gone even though his cronies remain. The worst thing is all major attempts at banning shooting sports in this country have come from the Tory party and have all been knee jerk attempts at popularisms whilst protecting the Police and home office who were blatantly failing in their jobs and in 2 cases broke the law! As usual law abiding shooters suffer.
Still the anniversary gave us all the chance to recall the fine work done in Flanders Fields and other places in the war to end all wars, started by politicians again!

Wow, only the Brits can design shooting positions on a gravel bed. Can you spell "masochist" ? No wonder the old gent needs elbow pads. Interesting old SMLE he's shooting though. It still has the magazine cut-off. You don't see too many of those around.

Ask any of your ex Bisley shots and they'll confirm that the gravel is better than the grass as at least it drains away, doesnt rain much at Bisley and if it isnt you are getting sunburnt. The gravel is a clue in target riflemens nicknames: Gravelbellies.
Plenty of SMLEs in our two clubs, HBSA and LERA, most varieties on show and since the demise of self loaders we seriously study our historics and plenty have cut offs including the No1 MkV and MkV1.
