I cannot even come close to some of those older "Classic" firearms!! But I do have (and use) a sporterized P14 in 303 British that was made by Winchester in 1916. I might add that it is a fine shooting rifle for it's age, and several animals could attest to that if they were still alive! :D Regards, Eagleye.

I sure would like to know how you guys get a full length rifle in one pic & still have details like Blargon does??

Well, for details you need light, I lay it on the floor by the patio door. Then hold the camera high enough to get the whole gun barely in the frame, and use the flash. I'm 6'2, so its easy to hold high.:)

Classics

Great thread. Particularly nice seeing those classic 'Mauser' sporters and old Winchesters.

The closest thing I have to a classic is a Browning reprodution of the Winchester 1895 in 30-06. One of my favorite rifles, but not a 'true' classic.

He is a little plinker I like to play with, by no means a collector but it has an excellent bore and shoots well. It is an 1899 savage in 22 HP with a lyman alaskan 2.5 on top.

- Commercial FN mauser, 270 win. Lyman peep sight
- Husky 4000, 7x57.
- Mannlicher Schoenauer 1925 high velocity, 30'06.
- BSA hunter, 7x57.
- Churchill No.4 Mk I, 303 Brit.
- Husky 1600, 30'06.

I am in the midst of a deal for another classic beauty in 7x57. I will keep you guys posted.

If you guys soon dont stop posting all these beauties, I am gonna run out of underwear to change into. Seriously, these guns get me more excited than my last 3 girlfriends combined. Do I need help?

As Ted has started this thead with one of his own rifles, I will add to it with one of his old rifles, which is now in my safe via the EE two years ago. FN mauser 270. Lots of use, 1" groups with almost every load tested so far, and has that "snik, snik click evey time you cycle the action. A timeless piece of work.

Glad to see you are taking good care of her! :)

What a great thread! I'm really enjoying looking at all the old classics. Here's a few of mine (all of which are shot and hunted with still to this day):
This first one is a Winchester 1886 extra light takedown 45-70 made in 1901....

Nice poses, you should do the pictorals for some of the gun rags. Sure got an eye for presentation.
Thank you for those kind words. I'm planning to put together a 2009 Calendar with pics of old Winchesters, if I can scrape together the time to get it done.

More pictures of that Krag details details man
Is that puppy engraved?

I tried to get better pic of engraving but can't figure it out :(
It was semi-featured rifle in Michael Petrov's article on Custom Sporting Rifle Makers in Precision Shooting--February 2004
(by the way if anyone has that mag issue still around I would be most interested in purchasing it from you) :)
