Old Colt 1911

Co-worker has a mint Colt 1911 (mfr. 1913)
'Has documentation from Colt indicating it was one of "X"number of pistols shipped from Colt to the Canadian Diplomatic service in 1913.

Any idea of where one would look to get an approx value of said pistol would be appreciated.

The pistol has to look similar to this one. Why? This is a 1911, made in 1913, that was presented to a Canadian Doctor during WWI. Before anyone asks, it doesn't belong to me but I wish it did. Regards, Richard

Serial number?

If you feel comfortable posting the serial number or most of the serial number, there are some books that can positively date the pistol.
Does the serial number have the letter C in it?
Lots can be told about early Colt 1911's by their serial number..
