Hi folks, I came across an undated Belgian made 22-auto barreled action. Looks like a good restoration candidate. It isn’t badly rusted, bore is good, zero blue left. But it’s missing the wood and magazine parts. Anyone know of a place/person who might have some parts for these?

It has sentimental value to its previous owner. He doesn’t know it’s going to get restored for him :) I think it only needs a few hundred in parts. It’s mostly whole minus the wood and magazine bits.

It sounds like you are going to make someone very happy.
Good on you Sir!

Just spit balling, but will the wood & parts from the Norinco fit? Cheaper to get a gun than to buy parts.

That was my initial thoughts too.

If the magazine parts are not there, then whether it was originally a top or side load, doesn't much matter, as it will all have to be fitted together anyway. Some oil finished Walnut will likely look a little more at home than the gloss finished modern style wood, but, y'know, tastes vary. Not a terrible project to scratch build a stock for, esp. if you can scrounge up a mag tube assy that you can make work.

Sounds like an interesting project. At the very least, The mag and inner tube from a Browning, Norc, or a Remington version should be able to be made to work. Though I'd suggest the former two are rather thicker on the ground. If you don't mind a little hacksaw and file work, pretty much any tube mag that was long enough, could be adapted. Just gotta keep an open mind, and be willing to fiddle some.

I would start with a phone call to Western Gun Parts.

Cheers
Trev
