A buddy has one of these I am thinking of borrowing.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Another pal showed me his Remington 11-87 the other day. Boy is that a nice shotgun, but I can't afford anything like that, so I'd like to try borrowing the old JC.

I have one and used it for the shotgun hunt for deer this year .While shooting at the second of two deer the hammer broke and jammed the bolt open rendering the gun useless. In the past the charging handle/oprod had broken as well.
I will not use this shotgun again as i smashed it against a tree after it failed. I don't usually loose my temper but haveing your gun fall apart while a deer is looking at you is enough to give anyone a meltdown .

Is that all the advice I'm going to get?

What about the Browning A-5? 80 year-old buddy has one of those too I could borrow. It's in 2 3/4 and full choked though.

There is also a Remington 1100 for sale locally for about $300. How's that sound?

i use a 2 3/4 full choked A5 for a slug gun, pretty good accuracy. for a slug gun that is. with the federal premium slugs i hit a pie plate 9 times out of 10 at 40 yards
