I have an old model single six and was wondering who here in Canada does the transfer bar installation update for Ruger. Also, I was wondering if such a facility has the ability to supply and "fit" a new 22 LR cylinder for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

What are you talking about?

If you don't know what you are talking about, don't answer the question. I'm looking for the name of the smith or smiths up here that service the Ruger old model revolvers at no charge to the customers as per their recall. Buying parts on ebay to convert an updated model back to an old model is not why the question was posted. READ the question - if you don't know how to interpret the question, you don't know how to answer the question. Sorry for the upturned collar on this, but two responses, and no useful answer between them is just a waste of bandwidth.

There was a fellow out of Edmonton doing work for Ruger. I had a very bad experience with him and can not recommend him or even if he is still doing work......I can not remember the name - it was kind of a funny name..... I would remember it if someone said it.

I think your best bet would be to contact Ruger and ask them who does their work in Canada... hopefully someone does..

Possibly Erv at Western Gun Parts could advise you on this as well....

The kit on ebay is to change a old model into a new model, It is the transfer bar kit. Is this not what your looking for ??? As for finding a smith that will do the work for free, good luck.

Ruger supply the parts and do the update for free - forever... they can also authorize a business to do that.... it is a free service to owners of old models..... they give you the old parts back so the collectibility of the firearm does not change.... it is a free service... what is required is: who does this in Canada?

Now this thread has several responses and no solution.... sorry...
