Old Redfield reticle

I bought and older rifle this past week and it came with a nice old Redfield 1x4 scope.

Seems to have a strange reticle I've never seen before, something like this ........

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this reticle?

Top wire on deers back, bottom wire on bottom of chest by adjusting magnification = yardage to the deer.

When you say "top and bottom" wire, are you refering to the two wires in the top?

Try searching Redfield Accu-Range on google, you should be able to find the info you want. It is a rangefinding reticle, the distance between the top two lines represents if I remember correctly 18". When you see a deer adjust the power of the scope until the body of the deer fits between the top two lines then read the range on the bottom.
