while looking for 700's I came across this old girl that called my name....I couldn't resist......a 721 in 300 H&H.......:D

date code is KXX, which is May 1951

has 26" tube, stock has no major dings, bore is shiny as the day it left the factory. With a new recoil pad and a cleanup it'll work.
I adjusted the trigger to 2-1/2lbs, not sure if I'll try the old ScopeChief 4X with Command Post or stick one of my standby 3-9X Leupys on it, or I do have a nice older 3-9X Redfield here that would look good on it.
I had a rear sight in my parts pile I put on it...have a front site too,..maybe I'll swap it on for looks, doubt if I'll use the irons.
Haven't found any brass or loaded ammo yet, tried P&D and WSS.

Neat rifle. Looks pretty cherry in the pics....great score, congrats!

Had a 722 in .257 Roberts......loved that rifle. Should NEVER have let it go.....oh the things we did back in the '80's.....

I've had a few 722's, three of them in 244 one in 257 Roberts and one in 308 and a 721 in 270 that I rebarreled to 30-06AI. They are good old rifles.

Wish I'd kept the Roberts and the last 244 I had:confused:...it was a beauty.

I'll try to hang on to this one......but I've said that before....:D

That is a good find. I too have had (and still own) several 721s and a 722. I love them all. My favorite is my grandfather's old 722 in 222 Rem. It too has a 26" pipe and I still have the original Weaver K8 AO scope that grandpa ordered for it back in the mid 1950s. Let us know how it shoots.

Beautiful!:D

I've seen about 3 in my life, all had been rechambered to 300 Weatherby.:(

I've got a 700 Classic in 300 H&H. Great caliber.
Almost as classic as a 300 WSM.;)
