Just thought I would start a post regarding some of the older favourite guns that people love.

I have my new favourite. Lets see yours.

YOU DON'T NECESSARILY HAVE TO OWN IT....SO FEEL FREE TO PILLAGE THE INTERNET FOR PICS

So whether it belonged to one of your buddies and you tried it.....or something once upon a time you had, but let sadly go.....

Lets see your favourite OLD GIRL.

The only conditon of posting is that you have fired it.....and love it.

1940 FB. POLISH RADOM 9mm

For those of you who haven't tried one of these yet....I'll tell you this much.

That silly looking "wedge" of a grip is one of the most comfortable designs that I have yet to experience in small arms shooting.

Something about the way it falls into your hand and is almost cradled by your palm that invites a smile before you ever even pull the trigger.

It points effortlessly on target given the grip angle in a way that I personally believe is even better than a 1911 platform.

to make matters even more surprising; that grip somehow translates into recoil impulse being absorbed by the frame of the gun in a way that will leave you speechless.

the sights are a bit tough to see in certain lighting conditions.....but this thing is rock solid reliable and freakishly accurate for something over 70 years old.

They are accurate and insanely reliable shooters, in addition to being Prized by collectors they are considered the very best pistol to ever be developed during WW2

They have come up from time to time and I had always passed on them.....don't be fooled.

I can tell you that it only took a magazine to make me a believer in the RADOM phenomenon.

If you see one going off next to you at the range one day and think you recognize this old girl.....don't pass on trying her if someone offers.

You won't regret it.

The Polish among you have something to be very proud of creating.

;)

This is my Smith and Wesson K-38 Masterpiece. A recent EE find, it's a 4 screw that shipped 1957 and has an amazing SA trigger. Definately my favourite of the moment.

The picture shows it with the period correct diamond Magna stocks it came with but right now it's wearing a set of S&W K frame 70's era target stocks that fit my hand better.

Magellan. Ive never wanted one.....until I tried it. The experience was an eye opener ....even for a man with 20 years shooting experience. Hands down...a winner. Trust me. ;)

and Squadron.....I know I haven't got to sell you on the idea of their general "awesomeness". ;)

Now that's going to cost me more 38 ammo for this weeks range time. :)

You should have called this post 'Real pistols have Lanyard rings'
My first pistol was a Chinese version of a Tokaregypt, changing the grip makes it from an angle akin to a Steyr-Hahn to more along the lines of a 1911 Colt doesn't it?
And I've moved onto much better than the Chinese stuff, just forget to upload pictures.

If I ever see someone at the range with one I'll have to be sure to sample it, I like the one that are not the flavor of the day.

WEBLEYS.JPG

Webley VI (WWI vintage), Webley IV (WWII vintage) and a H&R Sportsman (probably 50's vintage?).

They are mine, and a hoot to shoot.

Ive shot the .455 Webley before Monty....and found it to be surprisingly fun. Like an airgun that makes a distinctive loud POP and a 45 caliber hole! Awesome fun!

if that is what those are I would say they would definitely fall under the same category of "completely under rated" and a must for any collector/shooter. Definitely on my list too :)

Im a fan of anything historically significant that works well and the Webley's are just that.

5"bbl .38spl Schofield. Love the way this revolver ejects all 6 casings with a quick snap….Would be even funner in 45ACP:)

####......I saw hickok45 shoot one on one of his videos.... now that i've seen one close up. Sigh* there goes another hunkapaycheck of mine. LOL

Very Cool.

Mine would be my buddy's dad's 1936 walther ppk, I love the feel of it in the hand and its a great piece of history.

Next time I see him I will get a picture of the actual gun, not one pulled from google but it is in great shape.

Damn...The List just got longer.

Right now I'm having a fun time with the Browning High Power. Other than the cupboard door grips it is very nice in the hand and handles better than a 9mm 1911

If Corwin gets in these new production Radoms we've heard about I will be buying one. Plus I have a few key Smiths that I'd like to find, now that my interest in revolvers has finally come full circle.

I have to pick two. A friends dad had a nice Remington-Rand 1911-A1 that we took out a few times. Loved that one. Another friends dad let us try his Walther PP .32 auto. I really liked shooting that one. I admit to taking more than my share of that box of ammo.
