Hey guys~we've all seen the 870 threads about this, but that's an easy one. Remington has made so many 870s, and so many stock types that you can really mix-n-match building up one of those. I've messed with it myself. (1951 "corn cob" stock set from an old Wingmaster on my modern 870P) However, as a relatively recent fan of Mossberg 500s...i'm wondering if anyone has built-up an "old school" style 500? I'll be honest...I haven't even spent much time on Google, but from what I gather...there WERE some nice, older 500 wood stocks, and even a "corn cob" style forend at one time? Most model 500 wood stock sets I've seen have looked pretty ugly, and I'm mostly referring to the forends. Just curious what's out there, what people have built, etc.

My 500 is a parkerized Persuader with a full-length mag tube. Contemplating wood furniture only (if I can find), but nothing else unless it's an unobtrusive light mount.

Thanks for taking a moment to reply.

I have a “corn cob” forend on my 500. It was an illegal police trade in that I got suckered into. Popo chopped it to 16” and then sold it civy side which is a big no no. I thought it was a special factory run for LE but it was obvious what it was when I got it. I’ve since removed the barrel IOT stay legal.

Anyway, love the wood furniture. I think mine might be birch, it’s basically blond. Looking for a cheap vent rib barrel to chop so I can put it to use again.

I've been humming and hawing over hunting out a corncob pump, or an old Surefire pump.
