We called them purple Macks (Mack Truck). The old 1 1/4oz slugs
I have a couple couldn’t tell you the weight of them as they were loose in a box I got from an estate. Also got some imperial SSG and a few paper shells loaded with number 4’s.We called them purple Macks (Mack Truck).
I still take a sniff every time I use older stuff. I find the smell lingers in the semi as well so I get a whiff of it every time I use it after until the next cleaning.Definitely agree about the smell of those old paper shells when fired. When I was a kid I would go grab all the freshly fired shells and inhale a big lung full of that magical smell they had.
I'm up near BarrieDestroyed ammo? That would be beyond foolish. Shoot them or give them away.
I would be thrilled to have them, and as many have mentioned smell wonderful when fired.
Also a few like myself constantly pick up old CIL shotshells. Even empty fired ones, as I have a large supply of 4B primers that I can reload the CIL battery cup with to make free, new shotshell primers.
