Old shotgun shells

They are all good buddy . if I were you I'd hang on to a couple of the paper ones . they are a thing of the past and neat. shoot a couple . once I shot some old shells and they were a little smokey but they still went bang.

Thanks for informing me. Please send me your address and .....wait a second ...ur trying to be sneaky sneaky... ;)

Older shells from the 80's are still good for small game hunting im assuming. They don't use arsenic, mixed with asbestos, dipped in plutonium ?

Negative - Todays small game is far more robust and wiley than the quarry of 30 years ago. You expose yourself to extreme personal hazard if you're not equipped with the latest of ammo and firearms. Most concerning is the use of a single shot, as you have absolutely no recourse in the event that partridge you're after keeps on coming at you.

Har Har Har, sarcasm. ;)

I have like 250 rounds of vintage shells lol
THey better work.
Are the vintage shells not as Good when compared to the newest shells? Same ####? Or better ?

Paper shells are still made today. Federal makes a paper hull shell in their Gold Medal Trap loads. Best trap load on the market IMO. I always shot Gold Medal Paper when I attended The Grand American.
And don't concern yourself with shooting those okd Eley papers. I shot some old Western paper loads a few years ago out of my Browning Gold 10. The shells and boxes were in perfect shape and worked well.

I too have a small cache of Old Imperial high brass shells, including some in paper, as well as some Mastercrafts, all in 2, 4 & 6.
Was using them up ( 4's & 6's) in trips to Cuba where lead was still good to go for waterfowl hunting. Mostly 2's left now.

Still have some 1-1/4 oz. lead 4 reloads ( Rem RXP hulls, IIRC, with WW 540 powder ) left over from the good ol' days.

Couldn't agree further with "the spank" . I still buy a couple of flats of Federal paper Handicap 7-1/2 loads (T171) every year for select
Sporting Clay & FITASC shoots, and their paper 24 gram International loads (N119) for ISSF Trap. They smell GREAT ! One should probably
keep a bag of once-fired papers in the back seat of their SUV as an air-freshener ! Better than them ol' cardboard pine trees !

I also get a flat of 2-1/2" Gamebore paper shells every now & then ... 1 oz. 7's (English size) for grouse, out of an old SxS ! (order through Kent )
