Old stevens in .32 rimfire....worth anything?

Assuming it's a Favorite, around the $100 mark. Bore condition will push it up or down from there.
Gobel's had a couple for that price a few months ago. Poor bore was $85, good bore was $110. Should have bought it. I'd like to try converting it to 32 centerfire.

Slash5, I have one in .32 rimfire and am too cheap to pay the $3 a round for ammo.
How would I go aboout converting it to centre fire?

Would .32 rimfire be classed as an antique? If it were mine, i would hang it on the wall.

My buddy has a nadfull of Stevens Favourites, the .32 are really of no value. A .22 will fetch a few bucks, since they are still useable.

I haven't had my hands on one to convert to figure out the details. I saw a thread on another forum where people had done it. I assume that you would drill, tap, and plug the current firing pin hole in the breech block and then drill a new passage. Or possibly an offset firing pin.

There are many lightweight .32 centerfire cartridges. Most are loaded to blackpowder specs. One of them, I think .32 long, was intended to duplicate the .32 rimfire ballistics. If you wanted to be very safe, there is a .32 short that is very low powered.

Slash5 is on the money. If the action locks up good and tight, Plugging the old and drilling a new c/fire hole is simple on the favourite and also the little old Remington no.4 R/block .32R/Fire.. S&W Short and Long factory ammo is safe. BUT DONT USE .32 H&R Magnum like a fool i know did, He now has a very sloppy wallhanger from just one shot. These are great little plinkers if you have one that still has a good bore. There are also ways to get the old .25R/Fire shooting again but thats another story.;)
