I’m having a hard time finding this on the internet.

I’m wondering if someone can take some pictures of the bolt of a pre sako tikka (la/sa) w.e and a sako l61r? As well as the ejectors.

If not can someone describe how the extractors and ejectors work on these rifles and differ from other CRF rifles?

Are actions like the ARC Nucleus and LAW professional based on these designs? What’s the deal with the current howa 1500? Does it have a push feed style ejector and a sako style extractor?

SAKO & Tikka-
SAKO's have steel parts
Tikka's have plastic parts

You have the option of a 2 lug or 3 lug SAKO action.

All are push feed & not CRF.

The ejector is of plunger design as per most other push feed actions.

An ARC is of CRF w/ floating bolt head aka Bighorn(yuk).

I have not had a LAW receiver in hand,so I will not comment.

I believe a Howa has a T bar extractor as per the extractor in a Salvage.

The Fierce Action out of UT is a Clone of a SAKO (& a bastardized version at that)

Is that you Sunray?

Why do the entirely steel l61rs have slots for fixed ejectors and no plungers on their bolt faces if this is the case? It looks like the ( once again entirely steel) m55 has a similar extractor a and a large plunger ejector

Conor The pre Sako tikkas will be the model 55 (short action) and model 65 long action. There is NO plastic on either of these rifles except the grip cap. When Sako bought out Tikka they changed everything and brought out the T-3 models which do have lots of plastic. I will add that the T-3 plastic clips are the only plastic clips I have ever seen that feed properly and do not give trouble. Send me a PM with your e-mail or cell phone # and I will send you some pics of the tikka bolts

The Howa's are push feed with a plunger ejector in the bolt face and an "M16 style extractor" which looks a lot like the short CRF Sako extractor but the Howa is not CRF at all. Hope that helps with that part of your Q.

Conor- Here is a pre Sako Tikka M55 HB in 22/250. As Rokoro said grip cap and on varmint the bolt knob are plastic except on the Deluxe which has Rosewood.

What I’m really interested in on the l61r is the ejector and the slot for it in the bolt tbh.

I’m curious if the m55 extractor grasps the rim of the case like the SAKO extractors you can buy for rem 700’s (based on the 75????)

Anyone have their older tikka or sako in an aftermarket stock?

I have an old Sako in 300 H&H in what looks like a BC synthetic stock. - dan

Thanks Dan I see them listed as out of stock in the states. Guessing they’re no longer made but good to hear they are in the country somewhere...
