Been owning guns since I was about 10. Until I was older it was only a BB gun or pellet gun. My first gun was one my brother gave me. A Stevens 311 double 410. Suited me fine since all I really wanted to hunt was Ruffed Grouse. My brother-in-law left a 12ga pump and a 22LR bolt action at my house and I used them if needed. My other brother left behind a 12ga double with hammers, which I used occasionally, but it tended to turn your shoulder blue, so I didn't use it much. My Dad had a Winchester 1894 32 WS lever with octagon barrel and I admired it but never used it. There were others around the house but being a teenager at the time I didn't take much interest. I do recall that the guns would be proudly displayed on a rack in the living room.
So fast forward another 50 years and I have 7 guns of my own. Still have the 410 double and will never part with it. Now I have added A Ruger 10/22, a Remington 597, a Stevens 12ga pump, a Ruko 410 double, and just recently a Suhl 12ga double and a Brno Model 5 22LR.
Only go shooting about 2 times a year now. Proud member of a group that runs a contest 2 times a year which includes several 22 shooting events, skeet and skeet rabbits as well as a host of other no shooting events like, knife throwing, axe throwing, ladder golf, euchre, darts. It is a tremendous amount of fun all around.
So I sit here in Sarnia waiting for the time when we get back at it.
