Old vs New AR-7

The AR-7 rifle as seen in the movie From Russia With Love is the original. How do the same model of rifle compare to the original in terms of fit and finish, accuracy and specs? I have had a chance to shoot one a while back at least the modern version. Although the grip of the stock was a bit large it was a comfortable little rifle to shoot and plenty accurate. I wonder why they do not seem to be popular. Could it be they are permanently packed away in people's BOB's, cars, cottages, aeroplanes etc.?

I love my original Armalite. Haven't had any of the problems people mention with the Henry Arms ones.

I don't find they look too bad. Besides, it's a function over form thing. Show me a prettier rifle that can fit into it's stock, and float...

I always thought they would be handy as a grouse and bunny rifle on a deer hunting trip, but it's the shame the later Henry ones seem to have issues.

I am truely not a survivalist. but honestly i'd rather pack my short henry lever action .22 along than the AR-7. so what if it won't fit in my pack? it's light enough to strap to the outside of my pack and makes more room for inside the pack. if i was a serious boater i would for sure get the AR-7 again though.

Had a charter arms one. Only issue was nowhere for the 2nd mag.

I've got one of the latest models and it has been working great for me. I actually just got back from a walk in the woods with it and fired off about 100 trouble free rounds.

i used to have a armalite, sold it to a friend of mine, worse thing i ever did. fits nice in a backpack, used it to shoot grouse and rabbits.
