I was reading a post about the value of a Winchester model 75 and it started me thinking. I am a big fan of the vintage .22 and feel they don't get the respect they sometimes deserve. I would like to start a discussion to compare some of the vintage .22s and the newer 22s. Is the workmanship comparable? Accuracy? Etc. Since the Winchester model 75 was what got me thinking about this how about we compare it to a CZ 452 or a Savage TR. It would be great to hear from some owners that have both to see what they prefer. Other vintage .22s should be comparable too, Remington 513s, Winchester 69s, Mossberg 144s.

vintage vs new

good day all
my newest .22 is a 1975 rem 581,my oldest is a 1920 rem m12.
after handling some of the new mossbergs, savages and marlins.
all i can say is,the new ones feel like dollar store specials.
i'll stick to my well built, very accurate "old" rimfires.

The Winchester 69A's are great shooters.
I still own one.
Decent rifle to learn on as well.
Quite some history to these old gals.
Pre and post war bolt actions.
They don't seem to stay for sale very long.
