My friend was given a very nice condition, but older Winchester model 190 (I think thats the model)...Its a semi auto, with tube feed magazine. He's thinking about selling it, and since its in mint condition, I'm thinking about buying it, if these are any good ? Anyone know if they are reliable, accurate ?

What would be a fair price for a excellent condition model 190 ? I heard they are similar to a model 290 also, which I know nothing about either.

Hi. I had one for a year or so. Great little plinker. Reliable, accurate enough and cheap. I was feeding it with WINCHESTER SUB HP with great results. Loved it for the time i had it. If price is reasonable, take it. So should cost no more than 230$/250$ in VG+ to EXCELLENT condition.

I had a Winchester 190 until recently. Bluing was in great shape, aluminum receiver finish had minor scratches, wood had some dings.

It was totally reliable function-wise with Winchester Dynapoints. Accuracy was as good as my Marlin 60s, shooting dime sized or smaller 25 meter groups all day with the notch sights. I really like the 19-shot (with l.r. ammo) tube magazine.

I decided to stick with bolt-actions, so sold all my semi-autos. Listed it on the EE for $150 including shipping across Canada and it sold in a few hours.

Sounds good guys, thanks. I think I will buy it then, because he told me I can have it for $100, and its about 95% perfect. My estimate is that it has maybe a brick of ammo through it, because it looks like a safe queen.

Should be a nice little plinker for my kids, if I don't use it.
