My buddy offered me his old browning BBR in 243, it's in decent shape but it has been hunted with and does have marks on it here and their, just wondering what its worth there does not seem to be to many of these go through the EE?

The Browning Bolt Rifles (BBR) were built for about 6 years and they made a crap load of them. The 243 was produced less than other calibers, but it isn't RARE by any means. The BBR was replaced by the A-Bolt in about 1985.
In general, a BBR in "half decent shape" should bring 400/500 bucks - upto 700 if it shows "little wear".
Not rare - was an "entry level browning" - lot's survived - not a collector item unless it's unfired in the box = no more than the cost of a brand new Browning AB3 ($640 at Cabela's)

Guns are only worth what you can sell them for. Don't use CGN as a guide, and this is not the U.S. Doesn't matter what guns sell for in the U.S.
Have fun with it, abit of tlc and you should have a good shooter.
That's not a BBR. The action and barrel were made by sako for browning. They are excellent rifles. At $300 you stole it in my opinion. Another one just sold here on CGN for $750 a few days back. The only thing I don't like about them is the weird barrel contour and the engraved floor plate.

No thanks I'll hold on to it I've always like that gun and he just bought a new BLR and offered this one to me so I jumped on it, if it's not a BBR do you know what model it is?
I f you really like the gun and for the low dollar investment, I would send it off and have all the metal polished and reblued while I stripped the finish off the stock recut the checkering and refinished it. Put her all back together with some good optics on it and it would be a dandy rifle for coyotes or whatever you choose. A good winter project.

That's exactly what they are. Have had them in 22-250 and 308 as well.
