My Father was a very active man, who refused to slow down until he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke at age 89.
The resulting paralysis on his left side forced him into a much more sedentary lifestyle. However, he remained lucid
and kept his fine personality right up to his passing at age 95. I miss him terribly, even after 5 years. He was a true friend and mentor.
But the comment that we are living longer than our predecessors is on the money. Medical advances and closer monitoring of health
issues has resulted in the average lifespan increasing steadily.
I am still working, despite being well past 65. My employer keeps telling me to stay around, that I'm needed here. [Maybe one more year, lol]
I try to maintain a good, active schedule. I recently shed 42 extra lbs, and have never felt better in the past 15 years.

Watching one's diet is an important part of maintaining decent health and mobility, as well.
All in all, I feel very fortunate that I have reached this point without any real issues. It sounds like I am in good company here!
Regards, Dave.
