In the 1980’s Glock brought out their first full size frame in the venerable (not so much now) model 20 in 10mm. Glock wanted to jump on the 10mm bandwagon & compete with the S&W 1006’s & 1076’s. Colts Delta Elite 10mm was out there already but LEO lawyers determined it was the wrong configuration for them.
At the same time, the clamouring began for a Glock in 45acp. Glock sold countless 1st generation G21’s as a result.
