Older Lakefield rear sight help...

Hey folks I'm looking for a rear sight for an older Lakefield Mark 2 bolt action 22 rifle. I picked it up with a scope mounted to it and the rear sight was removed and missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated I've checked a couple of sites without much luck.... from what I see the new Savage design of the Mark II rear sight will not fit. Any other options would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance Jay

You don't say where you're located,but,those rifles were built by Lakefield-Mossberg at the Lakefield,ON plant just outside of Peterborough. You may have some success contacting local gun shops in that area. I would suggest contacting Accuracy Plus in case they have some extra parts kicking around. They may be able to put you in contact with a gunsmith that can make one up.
 
Oops sorry I am an Ontario resident. North Bay to be exact and I grew up in and around the Peterboro area.
