Older & Wiser or Older and Lazyer?

I used to be completely and utterly overcome with OCD while cleaning but have matured since then. How many people do you know that clean underneath the star extractor on a revolver? That was me. Occasionally I clean with that vigor, but it's the essential cleaning and lubricating now... I own my guns, I am not owned by them.

I wonder if it would be possible (safe and without any adversities) to find a ultrasonic cleaner large enough to drop a rifle in (detach stock first), but using kerosene or Varsol instead of water. A quick wipe down, the solution is a rust inhibitor... reassemble gun then place in safe.

I think it's older and wiser.. Used to beat the bush with my friends back in my teens, now that I'm older I use my Dad's quad to get to where the birds are. I'm all for anything that saves time, even if a bit of effort or cost is involved.
