As best as i can recall the range that was outside of Olds and its board of directors was completly overwhelmed and taken over with new members from within and around the city of Calgary. That was one strike with MVC but the nail in the coffin was a small handfull of bad apples. These reclkless individuals did decide that shooting holes in literally everything at the range and at whatever hours of day that they pleased was an ok way to behave in this area.Range closed permanently because of it. I and many others now have to drive an hour to a range so a huge thanks a lot *#%^* to those few people that caused that. So by all means...to those bad apples please dont support this area as those from this area don't want reckless weekend warriors shooting at everything and leaving a mess behind on crown land a range or anywhere near mountain view county anyhow. Ill drop into the show and purchase something just because the reminder of the ex Olds range still irks me and i support all the fine retailers on this website.
It wasn't reckless people it was complaints over noise due them renting it out to Calgary police. If and big if it reopens it will be to county only. There was a meeting last week and someone has over a hundred k in an account sitting.
Another reason was someone a mile away found a bullet in their door. Allegedly. There was alot of nonsense going on but it was before council last year to reopen
