I was looking at Olympic arms AR 15 tonight but don't know much about this particular brand. It was a basic AR with solid stock, shroud and one piece receiver/carry handle and chambered .223. It comes with a single 10/5 rond mag.
It retails for just under $800,-
Can anyone give me any objective input ?

They are still in business, I know that much. I occasionally encountered them back in the late 80's, and owned a couple back then. At that time their quality control at times wasn't the best. For example, I bought one of their uppers to fit on one of their lowers (that I bought a year earlier) and was surprised that it wasn't interchangeable.

I owned one of their match varmint models that shot very well. It would be in your interest to find out if the one above is an older one or not. I don't think they had chrome lined barrels either at the time. I don't know what they offer now.

I have not seen any of their current models in Canada.
