I figure its thinner to save weight but itseems this would of been layin down on its side an had some slight weight bare down on the cheek area Thats all i can think of!
Im not sure but wouldnt think this would have ANY problem with the performance of the gun and its accuracy.

If you are going to use that picture for your argument maybe you should post some background with it. That picture is from 2008 and is of a hunter that was hunting in NZ and slipped and fell on his rifle.
