So I have been waiting for this day for a long time.:) My wife has finally decided she wants a rifle but it has to be winter camo. I will take her shopping and get her to handle some rifles before I buy something but I just started looking and I have really only seen the Savage Axis in winter camo. I think I have seen a weatherby years ago but not recently. Anyone have info on finding more white/winter camo options? I know I can wrap one that doesn't come white. Thinking .243 or .223 she just wants a plinker but mentioned coming along deer hunting as a possibility which I why I am leaning toward the .243.

you can get anything painted but there are some semi auto 223's that come in winter camo I believe and I think i seen wolverine with some limited production sauer's in winter camo

T/C was available for a while, mostly in varmint calibers but it might have come in 243. I think Prophet River might have had some Howa rifles in snow. They're the same action as a Weatherby Vanguard in different stocks.

Some awesome rifles there. I will have to stop by Prophet as well, I did not notice anything white on the wall last time I was in there but as Brian46 said I can get anything wrapped/painted. I would glady buy her that white XCR but I think I would shoot it more than her lol

I'm pretty sure the snow camo T/C I saw at the local gunshop last spring was a .243. A quick look at their website shows the T/C venture predator is available in a decent selection of varmint calibers, and the .243, 7mm-08, .308, yadda, yadda, yadda. I know nothing of the rifles other than the quick glance I had at that one.

does she know that some winter camo turns yellow with handling? she might not want a 'yellow snow' rifle then and it'll open up all your options for factory rifles :p

Scoped rifle: Model: 11 Trophy Hunter XP - Youth, Muddy Girl

"Pink winter theme" 7lbs all-in with a 3-9 nikon scope, avail in 243/308 etc..

I'll keep my eye out for actual camo rifle.

I was in there yesterday, i don't remember seeing anything in winter camo... but i was in for scope rings not another rifle so i wasn't really looking. I was in Magnum as well, and don't remember seeing anything there as well.

Still.. not a reason to no stop in and look :p

Thinking about it, it was an Axiom stocked Howa that I thought I saw in winter duds. I could be mistaken though, it happens.

howa makes some with white camo print, and some with some pink in it if thats her thang, there is also the mossy oak stuff in winter colors, I put it on my rifle and am content for hundreds less then hydro dipping, Ive posted pics of mine with mossy oak in other threads but here it is again, a bit of krylon on it and a sleeve on the butt for shells:

Id suggest getting a synthetic stainless combo then wrapping it with snow camo vinyl wrap, I say this as snow camo is a little flashy for regular hunting season in case she decides to go hunting with you later, and you can remove the mossy oak snow camo and replace it with their fall colors easier..

edit: or something like this, delete the space:

Buy a synthetic, send out to image dip company...Cobra Imaging in BC may have a winter camp pattern. I sure like the look Moth Wing winter pattern.

Only other is the Savage Predator model with medium weight barrel.

Thanks for all the feedback, I am super excited the wife wants to join me at the range and possibly hunting. I told her tonight that she should find a rifle that fits her and we can always wrap it or paint it whatever she wants. I did not know that the white camo turns yellow from handling so that was good info. Think I'll take her to some gun stores this weekend and see what she likes. Thanks again fellas.

I'd also consider the 7mm-08 caliber, it's barely heavier in recoil compared to a .243 but packs more punch and range. Have fun! If you google rifle recoil table you'll see what I mean...and if you get the 7mm-08 you have the range and punch so it can be YOUR late season snow rifle. :-D

Only part of the white on my buddy's Savage Predator 22-250 that is yellowing is the throat of the barrel for about 2", never thought about the stock. I want to do up a winter dipped stock project possibly for my Sako m75ss 243.

I have a pic from a couple years back of a T3 Varmint 22-250 that was winter painted...almost bought it. If I can find it, I will post the pics.
