It is thinking like this that gets innocent people killed. What's the matter with you??? Why put gas on a fire? What if it were your ####en kid made a mistake and some hot-head like yourself "accidently" put a bullet in him? Agreed that it is the hunter's responsibilty to know where they are at all times... but on the other hand.... If you feel so f**** strong about your privacy and rights, quit being so cheap and put red circles every 50 yards and mark your territory. You mean that you have never shot a deer that ran over the road into someone else's field? S*** happens, and sometimes we all don't do the correct thing at the time. You are right however to say that trespasser's are disrespectful.
Leave the removal of idiots on your land to the cops, that is what we pay them for. Place a note on the hunter's vehicle windshield advising them that they are tresspassing and to contact you for an interview if they want to hunt lawfully. Copy down their licence plate.
Tough man carrying gun bull#### gives us hunters a bad name. Give people the respect that you demand and be the better person. BTW... Any a-hole who raises his gun and cocks it at me had better follow through, cause I would drop you like a bad habit.

There is no need to threaten someone, were no threat is.[/quote]
Sputnik,
You seem to have misunderstood my post. You've made some assumptions that are entirely incorrect. I would disagree that my type of thinking is what gets people killed.
Some relevant points and questions:
1. I'd never point a loaded gun at someone unless it was to defend myself. I believe I even stated that if the individual pointed his gun at him, he was out of line. I believe he could have him charged with assault if he had the firearm pointed at him.
2. Police are virtually non-existant near my hunting land, their response time would be an hour at least. I don't think it is necessary to call them every time someone needs to be kicked off my land. I usually have no interest in pressing charges, so what good are they anyway? However, I wouldn't hesitate to back off an let the police deal with a situation which seemed to be volitile. I'm a lover not a fighter
3. I'm not cheap and I do post my land where needed.
4. Tracking a deer on an adjacent property to recover it and the event described in the inital post are entirely different situations. I would most likely help the individual recover his deer.
5. I don't think I've ever threatened to harm anyone in my life.
6. Why would you initially give someone respect who has shown you no respect?
7. When dealing with armed trespassers, I think it is wise to be armed also. You really never know who you'll be dealing with.
8. I am a tough man both with and without a firearm. How does that give hunters a bad name?
9. Tresspassers are scum!!
