I just finished putting together the ATI OMNI hybrid lower.I swapped it out on my norinco CQ.
the ATI hybrid lower is polymer reinforced at stress points with metal.almost every thing is good about this lower. it fits all milspec parts.
the lower needs only a slight prepping before installing parts. like cleaning of the holes just to make sure debris are out of the way. there is no seams or anything that need to be filed down.
at first i used the DPMS lower parts kit to build the lower but i found it had a crappier trigger then the norinco so i just decided to use the norinco trigger set. all DPMS parts fit the lower but not all the Norinos parts fit it. the ones that didn't are the pins that retain the two take down pins and the rear take down pin itself. the norinco parts are just oversized a little bit and out of milspec.
this lower fits tight and way better then any metal receiver i have used. i didn't even need to add the accuwedge to it. this could be a problem if your upper is slightly larger but for my gun it fits perfect.
last note about the lower it fits every magazine i have put in it and not tightly just perfect. it fits the Norco steel and milspec SS mags also tapco and magpul and hera mags and even the beta C-mag. But the one big surprize it actually fits the thermold magazine! it is the first lower i have ever had it in that actually fits it and still has wiggle room.
this lower is one of the best out there. and for the money you cant go wrong. the only thing is time will test it weather it holds up and how much punishment it can take over the years.
i built a rifle on the CDX-15 lower and i can tell you i would buy this lower in a second over the CDX offering at almost $400 more. but like i said only time will tell the real outcome. since i am not taking it into combat i am pretty sure this lower will last the life of the rifle.
