NO not all lake are covered.

And NO IT'S NOT SAFE TO GO ON ICE NOW!!

One guy went thru & drowned a week ago saturday & he was further north than Ompah :(

THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!!!

I will be looking for the lakes with no ice. I want to go canoeing. Is it possible that ice is gone from some of the smaller lakes? If anyone has first hand knowledge would be much appreciated.

I was at my cottage last weekend, and it's about as far north as Ompah, maybe a bit more. The lake is deep, and it's still covered, but water around all edges, and I sure as hell wouldn't walk on what's left.

Water is good, I want water for canoeing, as much water as possible.

Ompah area ice conditions?

I went flying this evening and checked out a number of the lakes - ice is still in Palmerston and Grindstone but is out of Mosque and all the smaller lakes ie Quinns etc. Granite is half out and should be gone tomorrow.
