On-Line registration, time lines??

I think that because ONLINE registration is such a new thing that there are no real polcies.

Not to mention that the ONLINR process is totally DISCONNECTED with IPSC Ontario as a body.

I openned up the Provincials at 3 months prior to the event so people could plan their schedules.

That said I only did it because it was a prepay match. As I have posted before I will never do it that early for a non prepaid match due to the number of no shows.

I do think however that the system needs to be somewhat "regulated".

I took it upon myself as MD for the Provincials to BLOCK OUT sections of the match to allow for people who register by mail to get their forms in and still have a snowballs chance for a slot on any particular day.

This has worked out pretty good thus far.

However I am certain that people who were "late" in getting their forms mailed might soon be disappointed when they find that their choice of match days is already filled.

(BTW......we just broke 100 competitors!)

I've used the system for two matches so far, BGC and Sharon. I like it, and between the e-mail reminders, the ability to switch to other open squads, remove yourself from the match if needed, it's pretty damn user friendly.

I'm assuming that the MD setting up the registration can set aside blocks or whole squads for mail or call in, or RO's.

I just wondered if the old two weeks prior policy was in place, or if it was up to the MD.

I really like it too, but it's a damn shame some people tend to abuse it. They sign for every friggin' match, and then back out last minute, from over half.
