On/Off Muzzle Brake

That's great, but it is the first one I have ever heard about that does.

I agree... it is quite uncommon and it has nothing to do with how it was installed other than it was installed correctly. It is just a coincidence that point of impact doesn't change much.

A bit like some rifles will shoot different bullet weights into groups fairly close on the target but others spread the individual groups around the target. Just luck...

Corlane Sports in Dawson Creek,BC installs muzzle brakes that you can thread off and replace it with a cap to protect the threads. This way if you dont wnat the brake on b/c of noise or just want the brake on for shooting at the range, and take it off for hunting.

No different eh? You had better check again. Maybe read up a bit on the amout of man-hours required to do that kind of work.

I wouldn't buy one either, but then I wouldn't buy a $3000+ rifle anyway.

If you wouldn't buy a $3000+ rifle from them, you probably wouldn't buy a $3000+ rifle from anyone.

Their prices may seem high to you. But I bought my Sako m75 SS 300WM from them. I had the barrel custom fluted and teflon coated just the flutes. They installed the muzzle brake on also. I wish I never did the MB because of the noise, but its done. I can thread off the brake from being at the range shooting in new reloads, and then thread the end cap thread protector for hunting. Back then, (1998 I believe) paid $1050 for the rifle (also cheaper than Wholesale SPorts b/c I picked up the same rifle from WSS in Edmonton at the same time for my hunting buddy for $200 more. b/c Corlane's only had 1 in stock), $350 for the muzzle brake, cant remenber the cost of the fluting and teflon coating. With the Sako Optilock rings and Bases, Leupold Vari-X III 3.5x10x40mm scope, case and B.C. Highlander sling, I think it was just under $3000. Now if you buy a Sako rifle, add another $600+, and the Leupold VX3 scope is now $350 more. By the time your done your well over $3000.

Rocky Mountain Rifles custom guns are a great value if you want a gun, just for you and your specifications. They even develope the load for the rifle, and make sure it shoots tight groups.

If you have a rifle you like already and want to custom it up a bit, they will do it. Fluting, powder coating, whatever. A buddy of mine got a replacement barrel (high end one), got it fluted and powder coated. This old looking 30-06 is now a beautiful looking and great shooting rifle his fatherinlaw now shoots.

To each there own. Why buy a custom or expensive rifle from US companies (Kimber or others for example) when you can have a Canadian Riflemaker build you one. MADE IN CANADA sounds great to me!
