In Canada, we either call it the C9 or LMG. I have had my ass chewed out for calling it the "M249" or "S.A.W."

One of my IPSC buddies refers to his as a SAW, maybe it is just you

We have our C7/C8 Rifles
We have our C9 Light Machine Gun - Section weapon
And We have our C6 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) - Platoon weapon

Used the C9 many times. Reliability was always a concern. But switching to adverse conditions on the gas tube fixed that up. Always a joy to fire though.

Yeah, that always burns out the barrels quicker. But it does work!

The new thing they are looking at is issuing 4 barrels per gun, 2 of the shorter CQB and 2 of the longer range ones.
