I know, I know....it's all old hat to you guys, but on Saturday at the close of business I put my name on a new Bushmaster 16" flattop XM15 E2S.

At 9am Tues I got a message at work on my cell to come and pick 'er up...the paperwork was already done!! That was the longest day of my life, waiting to get out of work!! :D

Now I have to do the club ATT and I hope it doesn't take too long. I wanna shoot the darn thing! Wooohoooo!

I picked up an EOtech on a LaRue riser from the Equipment Exchange here and I'm going to try service rifle with the OSA.

I reload for my .223 Tikka Tactical....what bullet weight do you all recommend for the new Bushmaster, with a 1-9" 16 inch barrel?

I'd wager a bet that thing would throw 69gr. SMKs nicely. 25.5grains of Varget or BL-C(2) and you are off and running. Mind you I'd run at least a 4 power optic with the above as well.
If you want to stay with the eotech, run some Winchester 55 or 62 gr. USA ammo through it, make lots of brass. -save it though, the WW brass is worth keeping.

Yup I just picked up some 69 gr Sierra's and some 68 gr Hornady Match and I have lots of Varget, primers, and brass.....Good To Go!!!

The LaRue riser under the EO is a quick release (no idea about re-zero yet) and I was thinking about having a lower power scope kicking around to clip on top...

I have a Leupold 8.5 - 25 x 50mm Mark IV LRT....would that work???? Heh heh!!

I actually had the EO on my Tikka Tactical just for a laugh and I was doing 1.25 to 1.5 MOA at 100 meters from a bench. I'll have to see what I can do with the Bushmaster.

Don't rush out and buy a 20" barrel since you mentioned that you are shooting Service Rifle (500m and closer), your 16" barrel will certainly kick some butt. You will be surprised.

EO tech for CQB matches, yeeeeha !!
