On the fences Schmidt&bender or Nightforce!

I like Swaro. It just I want turrets for long shots

I may be mistaken, and if I am I apologize. That said, you don't sound like you know the first thing about hunting, particularly LR hunting. if you think that you need a 25x top end for any conventional hunting, you need to spend more time reading, practicing and hunting before you get your credit card out. If you want to be a serious LR practitioner you should make some friends in the precision community and wear out a barrel learning to shoot before you consider putting crosshairs on fur.

Considering that Nightforce scopes are not made in China I know that your pictures are wrong, here is what it says on their web site:

Every Nightforce scope is assembled at our factory in North Central Idaho.

Here are a couple of real pictures of the Nightforce factory, kind of looks like the S&B factory.:p How's that math doing now?

Nice try, most Nightforce parts are manufactured overseas. The scopes are assembled in Idaho, like their website says. There's a difference between assembled and manufactured, but you knew that. ;)

I have Night Force and S&B . The S&B is easily better. Infact optically the Sightron is better than any Night Force NSX model and is on par with the Night Force BR models.

Guaranteed not S&B. The Japanese make great glass, they just don't have the "name". The technology may be equal, but it's still Japanese. Hence the reason many optics manufacturers hide this fact.

Nightforce don't hide that fact. Any NF NXS is labelled "Made In Japan" right on the bottom of the tube.

If you are hunting, I don't see why you need a 5-25. You are probably better off getting a Zeiss Victory in 3-9 or something

Why would you say that...IMO, you can shoot anything on 5 power that you can shoot on 3 power. Anytime I had a 3x9 it was always set to 9 when hunting anyways. The only advantage to a 3x9 might be the weight saving.
cheers

You're right, I suppose they don't "hide" the fact, but they certainly don't advertise it, hence the statement "all scopes assembled in Idaho". This is more for the US consumers. Not that the US is known for top tier optics anyhow.
It would actually be illegal for them to put "Made in USA" on the scopes.

Agreed, My Swaro Z5 5-25 works great for hunting. I have a bunch of other lower variables and no matter which it is, they rarely go below 5 or 6 power, though I find myself wishing for more power quite often.

I used to have NightForce and was very happy UNTIL I looked threw the S&B's. Needless to say I sold all the NF and replaced them with S&B. They are more but in my opinion worth every penny more

There is some truth in your statement. However the low end is more often used then the high end on optics. 25x is an advantage for extreme ranges which 95% of shooters can't effectively shoot to. Aside from the lack of skill there is also the question of whether or not the projectile has sufficient energy for an ethical kill. If you target shoot at long range the higher end is an asset. If you're hunting game the low end will be an asset to the majority.

S&B only recently started making their own glass, the reason they make their own glass now is that they bought the company that for decades made their glass for them according to their web site.
