On the hunt for a new hunting boots for the fall!

If you have wider feet, i have had good luck with Keen boots. They don't make hunting specific boots, but i doubt the deer really care if your boots are realtree camo.

They're certainly not on par with irish setter or etc, but they're miles ahead of the walmart/crappy tire brands, and the sizing is very consistant, so you can try one or two on to get your size and order online when they go on sale.

I got giant strange wide feet like a duck. Ill check keen out if I can find them locally, Maybe they can be my daily boots.

Get fitted for a set of Altbergs. Live long and be happy.

I brought my Altberg motorcycle boots home with me when I moved back from England in 1999. They are nearly twenty years old and still as waterproof as a rubber boot (Pittard's W100 leather.) Although they are a motorcycle boot they have a Vibram Skywalk sole and the foot fits like a hiking boot. They are the most comfortable, best fitting boots I have ever worn and I haven't seen any footwear of any sort that is better built. I had used them for several years of despatch riding (i.e. about 300k miles,) and had to send them back to Altberg to have the soles replaced before I left England. They would be a better hunting boot than any I have tried but I save them for riding only because I don't want to wear them out. (Altberg doesn't make this model anymore.)

If you can afford a pair of an Altberg made-to-order model, they are worth it.

I know Wallyworld (walmart) has usually sub standard gear, but I couldn't resist these for only $6.00!!! Guess they were discontinued and we grabbed them a few weeks ago..IMG_0013[1].jpgIMG_0014[1].jpg

I've tried SOOO many different boots over the years and now I've finally found the one brand that works for me. Hanwags.

Not cheap but worth every penny. Amazing support and comfort and my only complaint is I don't find them great in very cold weather.

I've got a set of Irish setter elk trackers for hunting and they are worth the money. If you take care of the leather on the boot they will last a long time. Mine are probably 4 years old at this point and still in excellent shape. For the price I don't think they can be beat. A good way to justify the cost is to break it down over the life of the boot. So for a pair of 4 year old boots that cost $400 your annual cost is $100 ( hope that makes sense) and I haven't ever found a half decent pair of boots for $100 that last more than a year.

hey, check out Moroka30 ATF Kings on google, its an Aussie company, I just got a pair and are trying out, lightweight and water proof etc etc... check them out, I am happy to Ship over if people are interested!?

Approx $330 AUD = bugger all CAD

Cheers
