[Wrong Way]

A couple quick shots of a gun from an estate I cleared today...heres what I do know: It's a MK1 Fazakerly...and believe it or not the entire thing (inc. the mag) is park'd.
Heres the thing, the buttstock has beautifull lines...not done justice in the picture, but gracefull, smooth, well proportioned.....###y.
As a guy who works wood for a living, some things stick out to me, and this stock is exactly how I'd make it. I'd love to know if anyone recognizes the lines and can ID the maker, or if there should be something else I should be looking for.

I'll try and get some better pics when SWMBO gets home with the good camera.

What intrigues me about this gun is the parkerizing.....is it common?

The pistol grip has a decidedly Fajen look to it, but that could be copied by anyone.

IIRC, Fajen was/is just a stock maker.

I thought it was a Parker Hale. The pistol grip looks a little curvier though.
What is the rest of the gun like? is the bluing good etc. I love a beautiful sporter.

The gun actually appears to be park'd (but really dark parkerizing). No bluing.
There is a plate of some side on the left of the action with drilled and tapped hooles....I assume for a scope mount.
The only thing I can see wrong with the gun (if it is "wrong") is I can see daylight between the back of the forestock and the metal band at the wrist.

Fajen and Bishop were the two largest manufacturers of semi finished stocks in the US, both in Missouri. Carved stocks for just about everything. Can't tell from the photos what sort of scope base has been fitted.

Fajen only exists today as a trade nema reselling Richard's Microfit stocks, but back in the day, they were THE stock maker for custom builders. They have a discernable "style", often with weatherby-like curves at the pistol-grip.

You could buy quite a few different styles and grades from them (literally hundreds), I still have a few in the gun cabinet, and thier old catalogues are great (and a wealth of info on what fits what). - dan

I had a No. 1 with I think was a Fajen stock, long ago. It had bad headspace. Your's might too. Check the headspace.
Fajen made aftermarket stocks for nearly everything. They're long gone now.

A fajen stock has nothing to do with headspace.

Fajen NEVER converted Lees for sale, only sold wood to gun builders.
