It makes sense in some aspects especially in collecting. Unless having multiple different calibers is part of your collection, If all you want to do is collect guns to shoot them then it makes sense to get everything you can in the same caliber. Realistically, there are a lot of calibers that can do it all for what that individual wants to hunt. Just collectors are really good at coming up with a reason why they need another gun to add to the collection.
