One piece mount question

I have never used a one piece mount before (Armalite). Do these one piece mounts normally have to be reemed to ensure the rings are true? I have an Armalite and as soon as I put even a little pressure on the ring caps I lose almost all of my windage adjustment in one direction (using the bore sight to determine this) - when I use a pair of regular rings the scope works fine but they are too low for proper eye position.

Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with this particular mount, but offhand it sounds as if something is wrong, and the scope is getting tweaked. There are ring lapping and reaming tools, but they only make minor corrections. You might want to consider taking it back.

I have the one piece Armalite mount and have not experienced that kind of problem. These mounts have a pretty good reputation and if they bend your scope tube, there is something seriously wrong with it. As tiriaq mentioned, get it exchanged for a new one if you are the original purchaser.

Thanks guys. I talked to the supplier and there may have been a very limited few non spec mounts that left the manufacturer. I am sending it back and they are going to send me a new one (once they verify it is the mount causing the problem).
