One Powder?

Going to be loading for .270wsm and 300rum. Shooting 110ttsx and 150sirocco's. Would like to use the same powder. What would you try first?

You won't likely find one powder that is ideal for both, so you will likely have to compromise. I would likely try R-22.

Leaning on going with maybe 130's out of the 270 and using RL-22 if they have it. The 110s are hard to find.

Why limit yourself to a single powder? Long cartridges and short cartridges have different requirements that are difficult to meet with a single propellant, so I would probable consider 4350 fro the WSM and Retumbo for the Ultarmag. If we were to meet halfway we would find H-4831 which would probably prove to be too slow for the WSM and too fast for the Ultramag.

Loading for my brother and thought it would easier just to have a couple pounds of the same thing and load it all.

Barnes shows IMR4350 and RL 19 for the 110's. The IMR uses a bit less powder for the same velocity.
There's 150 grain IMR4350 .300 RUM data on Hodgdon's site.
Versatile stuff that IMR4350.
You'll have to work up the load, of course.

Ended up get some 130 ttsx for the 270wsm and some 150 gr nosler accubonds for the rum. Couple pounds or IMR 4350 is what they had in. See how things play out when I get a chance. First time with the noslers, see how they are for hunting.
