ok i ve seen some people with feeding issues on their crf not all crf are all created equals. do not tell about your brno 602: the best ever. a shame never done for us the lefties.
I’m confused. You question the posters reason for wanting CRF. So what is your train of thought here? Because in your second sentence you are expounding the virtues of a 602. Confusing.
Any type of rifle can have feeding problems if not set up properly. The PF crowd have made significant movement towards single stack magazines as even a monkey can get them to feed. Just because someone’s rifle won’t feed correctly doesn’t mean mine can’t.

Agree. I shoot because I like shooting. Hunting alone is not the be all and end all for firearms ownership in my view. YMMV tho. - dan
because i know which geologist 375 he has. what i think about crf is not relevant on the reasons why others love or not the crf ...
My personal choice would be a crf 30-06 and a 168 ttsx. Or a 208 AI and 140LRX. Once you get into the big game calibers its irrelevant the caliber really as all will do the job.... Id look for feeding characteristics, efficiency and capacity to push reasonable weight monos reasonably fast or heavy for caliber lead reasonably fast.

If it literally one load for the world, near and out to maybe 500, tny animals and the biggest of the big; I’m with Ardent: I’d sest the TSXs upside down for elephant and small game.
While I can imagine being limited to one rifle by law, I can’t picture why I could only have one bullet. If I could pick and choice bullets the TSX likely wouldn’t even be on the list.

Dogleg’s shot more big game than any of us. His experience with monos mirrors mine with slow rounds (sub-2400fps), it’s hard to forget what you’ve seen, or avoid saying what you think when a thread asks. Same could be said for the risk grizzly bears pose users of the backcountry really. We both have our shot in horses to beat, hard to ignore what you’ve witnessed in volume.
I personally like monos as they don’t leave any lead in meat, and I like shoulder shots for much of where we hunt. I think that’s a big deal, others aren’t worried and give themselves more bullet options. All the bullets kill, even the slow ones that set me off on my own personal tangent. It’s just differing preferences on how, and how quickly they do it we debate.

My PH was telling me about them culling elephants in Zimbabwe for the parks department. They employed a handful of PH’s. They rounded up a herd of elephants with a helicopter into an area the phs were waiting. All headshots from big caliber rifles. Every animal. Old to very young. They kept dropping them with parks coming in behind finishing anything wounded. The entire herd. Culled by professionals.
I asked why. They said that once an elephant sees humans as a threat it becomes dangerous to humans the rest of its life. So all must be killed.
I found that interesting.
