One round to hunt the world? 375 Ruger!

I have owned both and shot game with both. Ruger pigeon holed themselves with hornady and there ammo and brass. And In my opinion the h and h has been and always will be the king of the 375 bore diameter. Is the ruger a better more modern case design absolutely but it does nothing in the field any better than the ol tavern wench. Now the 378 weatherby and 375 Rum that’s another ball of wax.

That Semprio “in-line repeating rifle” is pretty interesting. A different sort of pump action rifle with a detachable magazine.

I watched the video, neat rifle but I'm not sure a pump action is a benefit when the scope is moving back and forth between shots.

Thanks for pointing this rifle out Alfreds.

I own a Semprio. The scope movement is no issue when shooting. Calgary Shooting Center imported barrels, mags and bolt head for me at an incredibly cheap price. I bought a .338 Win Mag barrel instead of the 375 Ruger. This was a serious mistake.

The Semprio in 375 Ruger has a cool factor akin to James Bond with a PPK. I am tormented over the possibility of ordering a 375 Ruger barrel, even though I bought the.338 already. The barrel cost approximately $2k and of course there is nothing the 375 Ruger can do that the .338 cannot.

Should anyone spend $2,000.00 for the cool factor alone? It seems dumb, even decadent. But men do buy sports cars and chase strippers. We don't need guns and Justin will try confiscate them and jail us all, if he can. So reasoned thought may be inapplicable in the shooting game.

Good to hear from someone that actually owns one. I was a bit sceptical at first but the videos show people shooting and staying on target just as well if not better than a bolt action.

Interestingly, I went to Remingtons site to check on the availability of the 375 RUM, so clicked on the listing "no results found" So checked the H&H "no results found"

I figured that the site was malfunctioning so tried the 6.5 Creed- Up come a dozen models!

I guess Remington has dropped both 375RUM and H&H! Shocking!

Maybe look again, they list both with a 270 gr bullet. I don't see a 375 Ruger though.

If you're referring to them not offering rifles in those calibers, that's not a big shock. A push feed Remington 700 was never high on the list of rifles sought after in those calibers, I imagine their sales were slow at best.

My model 700 is my go to 375 H&H. It’s a shame they stopped building them in this caliber.

Just talking about rifles. Remington has dropped their proprietary 375 caliber and the H&H rifle. Not surprising, really as their grass probably got mowed hard by the 375 Ruger.

Thanks!
Mozambique October 2015 during the eland rut. Hot like I've never before experienced. That picture was moments before we were swarmed by bees seeking the moisture from the animal and the blood.

It is a good one....I am going to take a good kudu before I croak.

It was a pretty neat spot. Tons of excellent plains game. I went alone, ended up having the entire place to myself. Coutada 9 operated by the Duckworth family.

Poachers, homemade firearms and leg hold traps made from leaf springs in the bush. It was a neat place to visit.

Nice all around, but that one eland is a beauty...
I had a friend living in Bulawayo, and had two hunts booked with friends of his but both were cancelled due to pregnancy, our first and second... never got back to it... but one day.

WOW!! At this stage in my life, ;) my field trips abroad are more in line with draw hunts in Alberta for Mule Deer and the most recent, was an Antelope hunt. My Daughter and Son In Law spent a month in Africa a few years back. For me though, and at this stage in my life, my primary focus is STILL, my favorite, Mr. Moose. He is my favorite, for the hunt experience and ALSO as my pick of the crop of table fare.

I feel the same... love moose hunting, but I have taken alot of moose and spend most of my falls guiding for them... tags are tough these days, so I can't count on a bull tag... so I have taken the "bull by the horns" and planned a few out of province hunts for 2020.
