Just a quick note first: To avoid confusion the matches are now called "online matches" instead of postal matches. Some people were thinking you had to send the target in by mail instead of posting them online. Same match; Different name .

Here is where you can enter your scores from the various matches (for rules on these matches go to the top of the rimfire page to the thread titled “Rules for Matches”.).

And just for a bit of "background info": Unlike other postal matches where you have to mail the target to get it scored this is simpily based on the honour system and the shooter scores it. After this you simply post your results in this thread.

To enter this month's scores you need to shoot the target(s) in the month of July

Just a couple of “guidelines” to follow and you should be fine.

Please state the:

Which match you shot
Your score
Your screen name (i.e. cz452shooter)
Gun used
Scope used (or if it was open sights just state open sights)
Ammunition used

Here would be an example:

50 yard unlimited,

231-2x, cz452shooter,
Winchester 52B, Weaver T36
Eley club extra

100 Yard scores

Good today at the range today. It was our local "100 yard precision shoot" (we use the same target).

Conditions were not to bad but still had a big effect on scores. I was shooting into the 8 ring on a lot of them to confensate.

We had about 14 shooters in all. Maybe next time I can get all the scores and submit them on here :)

I picked several scores to post on here.

100yd match

293-9X Paul Fairclough. (p14shooter)
Anschutz 1807, Lapua Super Club ammo
Tasco 6-24 scope.
Still using my block of wood for front rest. My rifle and ammo combo seem to like the 100yds. I tried some 50yd practice today and could not get anything going.

Great shooting Paul!! :)

Your rest is most likely the reason your 25 and 50 yard scores are not exactly as goo das you would like them to be. When you shoot at 100 yards you probably shoot good becuase you take 10 shots at each target and only move the gun 3 or 4 times. When you are shooting at the USBR targets you mover 25 or more times. Canting the gun a bit different can make a huge difference and each time you move the gun on the block of wood you are changing consitantcy. I started off shooting on a block of wood with a sandbag and didn't have great results. Then I got a two pieced hoppes rest with sandbags. More recently around december I custom ordered a cowan two piece windage adjustable rest and it has helped my scores a lot! My groups are sligthly better on this rest but it mainly helped my score. Instaead of having to move the gun you just mover the elevation the rest or change the elevation. Very slick!

Did you find your first shot at the target of 10 was a bit off? I had the same trouble as do others I know until I used a windage adjustable rest :)

Actually, I know I have a canting problem. I will mostly blame my equipment for that, seeing as how this is benchrest. I blame myself when I shoot prone. I know I can get rests that are inexpensive, and that will be my next equipment purchase. Still, I have to go lower end for money reasons, but it will help. I am still trying to get people shooting at my club. I little bit of politiking has to be done so as not to step on anyones toes. I will get 'er done though. More targets to come.

Great to hear that Paul and thanks for taking that on! If you can find a used rest that would be good. Althought I do think bags are quite important as well (I use protector).

Good shooting

25 yard Fun Match

102- p14shooter
CIL 190, bushnell 3-9x
Winchester superX

First time shooting standing in almost 20yrs. Now I remember why I gave it up at the time. Now that I am older and wiser, I will keep at it from time to time. Maybe.

Glad you gave it a try. That target is somewhat indimidating for those who don't shoot offhand all that often. Perhaps we could use a target more like the 100 yard target in the future?

Finally got out in the evening on Wednesday to shoot a couple of Targets. Conditions were close to ideal. NO wind at all and a very slight sprinkling of moisture that quit partway through shooting, so light conditions were constant as well. Here's the scores:
