Online shopping---> (FRAUD ALERT) ONLY?!

You are sponsoring their anti gun activities.

Smooth move.

Please elaborate on these anti gun activities you know about!

Do you mean that business decision to not to be involved in open gun sales so they can't be sued by every lawyer looking for a payday.

(FRAUD ALERT) is owned by eBay .. a business that takes a fee for putting items in the hands of people who do not have to show any proof that they have any common sence. If a nut job buys a part/item that allows him to do harm who is going to get added to the court case?

If you had a problem buying from a merchant using (FRAUD ALERT), blame the merchant for not reading the agreement, and have a second look at what you agreed to also. (FRAUD ALERT) is a service that provides payment security on their terms, use it or on their terms or find a second method ...

From (FRAUD ALERT) site .... is this anti gun, or just anti aiding and abetting ......

(FRAUD ALERT) is just covering it's ass and that's it. They don't care what you buy and sell, however if you end up in a situation where you have broken the law, (FRAUD ALERT) will have no problems pointing to their ToS.

It states that you can't violate laws in relation to certain transactions. eg. You buy a stolen gun using (FRAUD ALERT)

(FRAUD ALERT) is the only way to pay for something online never had a problem.Thats why I never buy anything from EE.I like the guys when they say EMT is King.Go fiqure.

No credit card is the best way to pay for something online. unless you do not have a credit card. on EE EMT is the only way or cash in person. (FRAUD ALERT) sucks and is for teenagers to buy crap off ebay

I called today to make a purchase, but was advised to do it online, which I did not mind if it made it easier for both of us.

Online purchases are set up with credit card payment through (FRAUD ALERT) only.

I have not, and will not make purchase over (FRAUD ALERT), which is openly anti gun, and will freeze your account as soon as they find out it is gun related transaction.

We go through this with almost every new sponsor in CGN, not informed about (FRAUD ALERT)'s very aggressive stance against firearm ownership.

Please look into this, as I will be more than happy to do business with you, once you have other options available to us.

That is false. (FRAUD ALERT) does not want anu liability for someone buying guns online. Legal purchases are no problem. re-read their policy.

Been using (FRAUD ALERT) for many yrs.Over 350 transactions.Never a problem with hunting related items or otherwise. The only problems were with a few ccrooked E-Bay sellers.Pay Pal always got my mkoney back for me.

Just going by the posts in this thread, I would guess that (FRAUD ALERT) has probably facilitated more firearms-related transactions than it has prevented. Where is the evidence that they actually have an anti-gun agenda? As others have pointed out, it is a leap of logic to assume that their business policies regarding firearms are motivated by an anti-gun philosophy. Something else to think about: Ebay owns (FRAUD ALERT). Ebay hosts the sale of thousands of gun parts at any give time. There are official listing categories for gun parts on Ebay, so these listings are not "flying under the radar". If the Ebay/(FRAUD ALERT) corp. is willing to host all those listings (and profit from them), it seems kind of silly to suggest that they have a staunchly anti-gun agenda.

I am happy to avoid (FRAUD ALERT) (they are a stupid group anyway).

If I use an EMT, what guarantee do I have that the other party will send me the goods? With (FRAUD ALERT) there is insurance included.
But with EMT I think I just send money to someone's hotmail and hope/pray that they are a good person.

Is there a safer alternative? Maybe a payment escrow service?
What have other cgn'ers done to protect the transaction when buying online?

Ian.

I was not aware of (FRAUD ALERT)'s position on firearms, thanks OP for bringing this to my attention. I've often used (FRAUD ALERT) to make purchases from eBay, Amazon, Etsy, etc., now I'll think twice about using (FRAUD ALERT).

Three years ago I bought rifle mount and paid through (FRAUD ALERT) and after a month ago they froze my account because I used it to pay for guns accessories.

Sorry, gotta call hogwash on that. eBay is full of "rifle mounts" all eligible to be purchased using (FRAUD ALERT). Just search SKS mount, or even LaRue on eBay and see what you get back. Accessories are NOT an issue.

I called High Cal. Told the guy on the phone i hated (FRAUD ALERT). He was cool about it. He took my shipping info. credit card info. A little small talk for a minute or 2. Then he said he would send it out as soon as he could. Seemed painless.

If (FRAUD ALERT) is so anti-gun, then why do they allow gun related items, from barrels to clips, to be sold on their site?
Myths, old wives tales, and hearsay, I say.:p

(FRAUD ALERT) seems to be a necessary evil these days, as many people use them. We encourage EMT orders with Emails or store call in orders, 604-BUY-GUNS, 604 289 4867 & we will process at the store, or drop in & browse if you are local!

Most of the credit card processing companies will decline dealing with anything firearms-related. And they are not necessarily "anti-fun" (sorry, "anti-gun" :)) but rather are fearful of legal consequences, litigation, and possible bad PR.

I run a small payment processing business where I successfully signed up two online firearms stores and one gun club that successfully process credit cards now.

It takes a bit of paperwork but it is doable. Definitely better than (FRAUD ALERT) :)

Let me know if there is interest -- mail@pbhcanada.ca
