22lr....10/22
22-250...bolt action
.223......semi-auto
.410/22lr...break action combo
12 ga........semi auto (longer barrrel)
308win......bolt action
308win......semi-auto.....ATRS-Modern Hunter!!!!!
300wm......bolt action
338LM.......bolt action
and a 12ga. defender.

Actually kind of a list I am working toward anyway. prioritize with popular calibers as the price for ammo is a big factor and surplus availability.

1. 22lr semi - useful for critters(survival), target practice while retaining military style ergos. Troy 10/22 with tacsol barrel, lightweight, accurate, hi capacity.
2. 12g pump - 870/590. Defensive/survival/SHTF/utilitarian I choose 870 with enough on rifle storage compartments for cleaning kit, take down tools(choke wrench) and full-mod-sabo chokes.
3. .223 STANAG capable rifle - Tavor if price was not a factor. Choose T97 b/c of upcoming mods. Defensive/SHTF weapon, compact while still retaining full barrel length. Magazines and ammunition are everywhere.
4. 762x39 Rifle - vz58, again Defensive/SHTF/Hunting... Hard hitting heavy 30 caliber so you can use it hunt although its not ideal. incredibly cheap and available caliber. Mostly similar reason to the above for the exception of caliber and length.
5. .308 Semi - m14 variant. Hunting/battle rifle/DMR. M305 with USGI upgrades can be made a 1moa Semi. 10Round legal mags, Hardest hitting so far on the list.
6. Pistol Calibre carbine - Marlin 1895c in 357/44mag - Pistol calibers are generally cheaper then rifle rounds, both calibers have low and high powered varients 44 and 38 special. capable of hunting large game with 44 mag.
7. 762x54R Mosin Nagant - Can be made incredibly accurate and 762x54R is a very powerful and common round (one of the most popular LMG rounds on the planet)
8. 22lr bolt - CZ 455 Something you just need to hit something incredibly small.
9. 300 Win Mag Bolt Action. Rem 700 or similar. Like to get something capable of hitting very long ranges.
10. Normally I would reserve this for a sidearm but mabye 308 bullpup/12ga semi/338 lupua.

If there is no budget limit:

1. Purdey 12ga side by side external hammers. Just because they are the best of British.
2. Garand
3. Barrett 50 with all the goodies
4. L115A3 Sniper rifle.
5. Mauser
6. SMLE
7. Winchester 1873. Have one and they are cool.
8. Sharps Target rifle in 38-55
9. Mosin. I have one just because they are a classic.
10. English side by side big game rifle.

11) Flintlock Rifle (This ones actually a freebee because its apparently not legally considered a firearm)

You are correct...

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/powder-poudre-eng.htm

Muzzleloaders made after 1898

All matchlock, flintlock and wheel lock long guns are considered antiques no matter when they were made. Like older firearms of these types, they are exempt from the licence and registration requirements set out in the Firearms Act.

As for my list...

1) Marlin 795 22 LR
2) Mosin Magant 7.62x54R
3) SVT-40 7.62x54R
4) Winchester break open shotgun 16 gauge
5) Flintlock musket

#1. M-1 Garand (own 3)

Newbie safe dreams

Newbie but I think this would be a safe to strive for.

1-.22 semi (useful but fun practice gun)
2- Sks (fun)
3-.223 Tavor or xcr (range fun/varmint)
4- 30-06 or .300 win bolt (hunter)
5-.308 Fnar or winchester sxr (range fun/hunter/accurate semi)
6-.308 xcr or M14 if going cheaper (range fun/hunter)
7- 45-70 (big bush hunter)
8-. 338 bolt (anything big/far)
9-.410/.22 combo (hunter)
10- 12ga extended mag, multiple barrels shorty/rifled/bird with chokes (everything)

Not enough experience to chose brands on all, any thoughts advice welcomed. Like the idea of NR use anywhere guns, good research post, for safe dreaming.

Personally...

1/ Valmet M78 5.56
2/ Valmet Hunter 7.62x39 rigged up as a Galil clone
3/ Tavor in 5.56
4/ Cz858 in 7.62x39
5/ RFB in .308
6/ ACR in 5.56
7/ XCR-L in 5.56 and 7.62x39
8/ GM6 Lynx .50BMG bullpup
9/ XCR-M in .308
10/ Dagger SAP6 12-gauge

And this way I stick to 5.56, 7.62x51, 7.62x39, and 12ga, all of which are readily available. Well, except for the Lynx for bear defence...

#8. Colt SP1 AR-15

Per the OP, only non-restricted guns allowed. If we could include restricted, my list would look very different!!
