ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

My transfer was approved the day after I posted my response, so 7 days total.

But I still have to wait until the package arrives at my doorstep lol

It’s been 7 business days today and the AR-15 has not been transferred yet.I called the RCMP today and was told that no one has been assigned to process the transfer yet.

I'm at 9 business days as of today and no word yet. Bought my first restricted three weeks ago and the transfer was done in 7 days. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Both bought from stores in Ontario.

Woohoo! Transfer approved today! 10 business days. I swear there's something about Thursdays... my last transfer was approved on a Thursday as well and looking back through other people's posts here and looking at dates, Thursdays seems to be the day. Interesting..

I'm going on seventeen days for a lower.

Update: Finally got the transfer approved. It was miraculously approved on the same day I called, 23 days after it was sent (17 business days).

Has anyone made a complaint to the Ontario Ombudsman? Some of these times seem extreme.

Waiting since Oct. 9th purchase. I'm not sure when the store put the transfer in but this is brutal.

That's an insane amount of time. Today I made a formal complaint with the Ombudsman. We'll see what happens. I feel like in Ontario we just accept these times.

Everyone start calling the ombudsman and complain. That's what worked last time to get transfers moving. I'll be calling to complain tomorrow. Last time they were "backed up" the ombudsman had them shut down for a day a week to do only transfers. They had most new registrations done within 24hrs.

That's exactly what I just did as well. Let some friends know to do the same thing. Only the squeaking wheel is going to get the grease. We need to speak up about these rediculous wait times.
