ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

Paid for my first restricted handgun on Sept 8th. just had a call saying they had received permission for transfer, so eleven business days,
Haven't received the new RPAL card yet though.
 
First restricted "purchased" from local store Mon Oct25, received call Thursday AM Oct28 from store that it was complete....holy poop! I was expecting 2 or more weeks. Now i just have to get the damn email sent to me from CFO to go pick it up.

Update: Emailed Ontario CFO office Thursday night requesting the Transfer Notification (Buyer) and received the reply email Friday around 12:15pm.

Called into Miramichi for a private transfer QC to ON on Monday, transfer request still not showing up on website, worth calling to ask or should I just wait?

I recently did a purchase from a private selling in Quebec and it took 3 weeks for the Ontario CFO to finally approve. I just received it last week. I find that private sales take substantially longer than purchasing new from a gun shop.

You are only 3 days in so you still have a bit of waiting.

Thanks for the quick response, that's what I suspected. Have in province transfers been much better? And does it being my first restricted firearms potentially make the wait time worse?

It does not matter which province you purchase from because you live in Ontario the Ontario CFO has the final say on approving your transfer. If you live in Alberta or Nova Scotia they have a 24-48 hour turn around time. Here in Ontario its a crap shoot.

Glad you got your first one.......well almost.
 
Private sales up to 3 weeks. From a gun store as quick as 24 hours but they are averaging 3-5 days. A friend of mine works at a local shop and they tell everyone a few weeks just in case but they are averaging 3-5 days.

Thanks for that, I bought a restricted from a store on Wednesday and am still waiting for the transfer to go through.
