ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

Sent one email yesterday and got the answer this morning...

"Thank you for your email.
We are currently processing transfer applications received on March 25, 2022. You will be advised via email upon completion.
Thank you for your patience as we process the high volume of transfers."

Well mine was initiated march 24th and I'm still waiting.

They keep saying this so people don’t bother with emails or phone calls
When I did my rpal license the lady told me will be another 4-6 weeks
I got approved and my license issued next day

rpal is a different process than a restrcited weapon transfer

even if you bother them they'll just keep telling you no matter what, I doubt they'll go "oh I'll get so and so right on that" after waiting 4 weeks

How about the paper work? Got approved 2 weeks ago, still waiting on my registration in the mail! Wish they just emailed them to us upon approval.

Damn didn't even get a tracking #?

That's still a bloody long time to wait. What happens if you're not home? Do they keep it at the closest postal office or something? Do you need to get an ATT to take it from the postal office??

I wouldn't want a handgun waiting on my porch lol.

I received no tracking number and didn't even know it was approved or shipped. It is supposed to go to a pickup point but that doesn't always happen. Thankfully this time it was through UPS and they did what they were supposed to but the last pistol I had shipped through Canada Post I got an email while I was at work saying I had signed for the package... It turns out the delivery person fraudulently signed for the package themselves and left in sticking out of my mailbox for everyone to see and for anyone to take. Thankfully it was still there when I got home.

Made my first purchase on April 7 of two pistols, a nine mil Girsan and a Soviet Tokarev from my local gun shop. From what I read on here I may be looking at another two weeks or so for approval… ugh. Noob question here, I was told by the gun shop upon email approval I can go get the guns and take them home then wait for paperwork in the mail until I can go to the range? Is that accurate ? Also they told me my license will be re issued with the last digit up one number??? Does this sound right to anyone? Lastly I’m new to this site love it’s volume of like minded knowledge can I assume the shops listed at the top of the homepage are well vetted and reliable? Tia.

When the transfer is completed you can get your babies home, BUT must wait for the certificates arrive to be able to get them to the range... unfortunately.

April 1st; Transfer initiated using their online portal (business to private)
Still waiting, called each week, no updates. so 4 full weeks so far, left my email to get the transfer, but assuming thats just a tactic to get someone off the phone.

Hoping next week sometime.

I don't think the people who are answering the phone are the ones doing the transfers/certs lol

I suspect they might be. I had an experience.
Once I called to complain a month-long waiting for transfer (when at that average transfer in ON from business to personal was about 2 weeks). The lady who answered the phone told me to hold on while she was checking/assigning my case to a firearm officer, and a few minutes later the transfer email arrived when we were still on the phone and she told me I should see it.
that let me pretty much sure she was the one who actually processed it.
